Facility Features and Restrictions

Stern Student Center

Normal Hours of Operation

  • Monday - Thursday, 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. midnight
  • Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
  • Saturday - Sunday, 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
  • Hours will vary during the summer term, academic holidays and campus-wide holidays.
  • Current hours of operation for the Stern Student Center may be found on the Stern Center website.

After Hours Operations

When possible, the Office of Student Life will allow organizations to host events in the Stern Student Center after hours. An after-hours facility fee will be charged to all organizations using the facility after hours. Current rates are available on the Fees web page.

ADA Accommodations

The Stern Student Center features an elevator, ADA accessible meeting rooms and restrooms.

Audio/Visual Assistance

  • The Office of Student Life can provide limited audio/visual resources for events held in the Stern Student Center.
  • For additional audio/visual resources, staffing and support, please contact Audio/Visual Event Support.

Decorations

  • Only free-standing decorations or table decorations are allowed in this facility.
  • Hanging or taping materials to walls, ceilings, doors and windows is prohibited.
  • No changes or modifications may be made to any room and/or space.
  • All items, such as props and/or decorations, must be removed from the area immediately after the event.
  • Glitter, candles, open flames and fog machines are strictly prohibited.
  • Reserving organizations will be responsible for any damages and may risk temporarily losing their reservation privileges.

  • Banquet – seats a maximum of 200 people
  • Auditorium – seats a maximum of 300 people
  • Clear Floor – maximum capacity varies based on event setup requested
  • Seminar – seats a maximum of 150 people
  • Table Fair – a maximum of 50 tables are allowed
  • U Shape – seats a maximum of 42 people

  • (2) 50-inch, flat-panel plasma screen TVs

All conference rooms are set up with a large conference table in the center of the room, surrounded by chairs.

Set Up Information

  • The Office of Student Life does not provide any setup assistance for the Stern Center Garden.
  • To request tables, chairs, trash cans or additional bins for recycling, contact the Office of Facilities Planning.
  • To request audio/visual equipment, contact Audio/Visual Event Support.
